I did not like this color challenge a 'tall, Emily... but I hung in there and have an acceptable card. I can't wait to see todays' gallery and the vision for the grey in everyones work.
Even after working for quite awhile, I still feel the grey washes out my collage. Do let me know what you think! This is heading off to my parents this afternoon...we are too far away geographically, I am thankful we are close in heart. I used the Hero Arts collage thankful inked with Adirondack terra cotta on the very vanilla. The right edge of the image is hand carved over three layers to give added detail. Stamped again the poppy and UTEE'ed, added a sentiment button in the center. I used a puff pen on the thankful. This is a tri fold card. I used Ma Vincis playful heart Alphabet on the right side to express my gratitude. Then that panel was cuttled with the Allegro folder. My card is finished off by tying it together with silk grosgrain ribbon using the slot punch from SU.
I appreciate your compliments and any thoughts you have on this CC, too!

Washed out? Clean your glasses girl. This is a beautiful card. You put a lot of thought into this. Your parents will love it. That edge work is awesome. One fantastic card.

What a multi-lingual card this one is, Susan. I think I see french, chinese lettering and english! Wonderful card. I wish you see how well those colors go together on this creation of your's. Interestingly, it's really stunning - the colors I mean; the card is wonderfully exceptional.

You are a funny girl Susan...I know what you mean about grey, but I think after doing this challenge, it is not quite as drab as I first thought, still not a favourite, even grey hairs do not stay at your place...your card is fabulous...enjoy your parents. Thanks for sharing!!!

I think the grey really makes your terra cotta pop even more! And it looks especially cool with the carved edge like that! Awesome job, Susan, and I love the script with the happy definition at the bottom!
