For my card I used this retired Stampin Up scene and stamped it a couple of times to get it long enough for the front of the card. I liked leaving it not colored to keep the card a bit more simple for a sympathy card.
I added a boot print emboss folder and finished with the sentiment.

A beautiful sympathy card, Lisa. I'm with you on keeping it simple(and peaceful) for these sad occasions. The shoe tread embossed texture reminds me of the phrase "footprints in the sands of time".
