Hello! I made it! I think watercolor knows when you are rushing! We had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday but it had some ups and downs. Our daughter has asthma and took the wrong mix of meds. She woke me at 3 AM saying her whole body felt minty! I a still not sure what that meant! Anyway, I sat with her the rest of the night to make sure she was ok. I think all the Thanksgiving preparations followed by all-night excitement left me a little under the weather and I think watercolor knows when I am not at my best!
For my third try, I used an extremely light outline of a Picket Fence Studios Tree. I used a trick I saw Lydia use on one of her FB LIVEs. She stamped her image in fadeout ink and then occasionally took the printed stamp packaging and placed it over her painting just to check and see the details before continuing with her painting. Since my image was so light I barely had an outline so the printed acetate technique worked well for finding where to keep the snow and where to extend a branch.
I still don't have masking fluid so my ornaments do not have the glow that the artist in the video achieved but they will do!
We hope you will join us this week and paint a tree!

Angie, your creation is perfection. You nailed the way she left white space for the snow on the trees. I struggled with that technique. You did achieve glow on the ornaments without using the masking fluid. Your branches made a beautiful, shaped tree. Very eye appealing. Always enjoy your detailed deets. We all are learning from you. Anyone who is a hostess or on a challenge team surely can relate on not every week being perfect. Some weeks we are the bug and others the windshield. Thanks for all you do. Fav'd

For a "not at your best" creation, this is pretty awesome. Love it.
