I thought Carla’s “Beautiful Music” challenge today was a great time to try TLC57 “Resist Resist”. I stamped the music stamp all over with Versa Mark and embossed with clear EP. Then I stamped all over again with Versa Mark and no EP. I got out my brayer because that’s what the directions said and I brayered with Bahama Blue ink. It came out a bit brighter than I had wanted so I sponged around the edges with Stormy Sky. This card is going to a friend whose mother was just diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. So I stamped a strip of paper with a sentiment from the Verve Just Breathe set and added a heart. I decided that some black netting behind the stirp would jazz up the card and mimic the sheet music. Then it still needed a little something so I lightly stamped some stripes across the strip of white paper.

this is super. those are the first four notes of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. Only thing is there should be a key signature of three flats. c minor. see, I know too much. I really like the stamp, just wish it had the three flats. I'm sure Mr. Beethoven felt all those emotions. His music surely showed them.

Nicely done, Jen! Love to see older techniques brought back to light. The fades on the notes and stripes are a great touch. Your friend will feel all the love you've put into this. Thanks for playing in my challenge and celebrating the beauty of music.

I must go and look out that challenge. Brayering is never something I have a lot of success with, though. The sentiment sounds great for your friend, and the black netting is a super finishing touch, it looks great against the blue.

This is a beautiful card, Jen, and so appropriate for your friend whose mother was diagnosed with that horrific disease! I love the shaded music notes and the white ones look fabulous on the beautiful blue. The addition of the netting is fantastic and the sentiment is perfect! Your friend will surely love the card! They would be good subjects for the teapot!!

oh, Jen, what an interesting card with that thought provoking sentiment and then there's that stunning bg. The added bit of nylon net just wraps it all up. Awesome.

Love the embossed background with the shadow of lighter notes behind. All finished off with the little bit of nylon net. The sentiment makes you think doesn't it.
