I spent the evening working on a completely different card for this week's Inspiration Challenge. It featured MFT's owls and was going to be a birthday card for my FIL but the more I tried to make things work the buzzier my head became! Currently, that seems to be my process. I start out with an idea and after a while, I realize it isn't working so I switch and I have a completed card in no time! I just wish I could realize my first card isn't working sooner! LOL
Anyway...........
After I gave up on the owls I decided to search for something green on our site today because I have some lovely backgrounds I created a few weeks ago with Lydia's Oxidized Shaving Cream technique. I was able to get quite a few great Oxidized pulls before I lost the bubbles but I had so much lovely color I kept dipping papers in the shaving cream. The wreath was die cut from one of the later pulls without the bubbles.
The berries on the leaf were made by using a small hole punch, adhering them to the wreath and then adding glossy accents. I am sure Nuvo drops would have looked fabulous but this is what you do when you don't have fancy drops in red!
I Found THIS flag which made me think of a wreath. Don't ask me why, LOL. I remembered seeing THIS adorable kitty flag earlier. I combined the two flags and a card was born!

I totally understand about having to switch cards Angie, happens to me all the time. This is a wonderful Christmas card from your inspiration. Hopefully you can finish the card for your FIL. I bet it turns out terrific too.

Angie, no shock here with that adorable kitty front and center on your wreath. Love the added bow. Every time I see a cat in the IC sites, I think Angie will do a cat card this week. Ha
I was working on a card this week (which had to be destroyed) and almost made my berries the same way as you did with this one. All this looks great on the dark background with the falling snow.

Angie, the gorgeous wreath on the card is eye-catching. It looks wonderful against the black. The addition of the beautiful berries, fantastic cat, and gorgeous bow are great enhancements. I am not surprised that a cat worked out for you instead of the owl. LOL. Angie, I am in that boat with you regarding the first card not working out. I have so many "first" and unfinished cards in my craft room. Hugs!

very cute! I really like the dark bg..it shows off the wreath and the greeting so well. I know very well how it is to start with one idea and it just won't work...the card you ended up with is adorbs!
