This card is for both of today's challenges. Free 4 All is 'Just over the holler" make a card showing something in a neighboring state - I live in MA but often vacation in neighboring NH with all of it's beautiful lakes and this stamp reminds me of those lakes.
And the Mix Ability challenge is Masked Pastel. I clear embossed my image after stamping it in black ink on a panel of watercolor paper.
Then I stamped the image on a Post It Note and cut around the trees and rocks to make a mask. I placed the mask over the trees and rocks and smudged on Turquoise Pan Pastel using my finger, just going straight up into the sky and straight down into the water.
Then I used the negative of the mask to cover the sky and water and rubbed Oxide Green Pan Pastel over the trees and Pewter Pan Pastel over the rocks.
I stamped the sentiment below, added 2 enamel dots and a wood veneer star. I layered the panel to a slightly larger panel of Hawaiian Shores and layered that to a white card base.
Not sure if my technique was exactly what Lydia was wanting us to do - but I like how it came out!
