This one-layer card is for a couple of challenges - the first is for a Queen who was crowned back in June of this year - Roberta (aka Stampin' Nana). I was unable to play that week and since that time have had the opportunity to meet Roberta - and I can tell you she is an absolute sweetheart. Her zest for life and fun positive energy is just a joy to experience - I'm grateful for her friendship !!
I struggle with CAS cards but she is such an inspiration that I decided to CASE one of her recent CAS cards that I fell in love with - here's her beautiful creation: { RobertaÂ’s Beautiful Thanksgiving Pumpkin Card }
Changes are different image and sentiment, no DSP on mine, different ribbon and added scallop border.
This card is also for today's Free for All challenge - to use fruit or vegetables in your project. I immediately thought of this fun set from 2005 called Stew Pot Pals!! Here's a link to today's F4A145 challenge: { Use Fruits or Vegetables on a card }
To make this card I stamped the Turnip, colored him with Copics, then stamped him again on paper, fussy-cut him and then used that piece as a mask. Final step was to stamp over the image with SU's Houndstooth background. To get the ribbon in the right place delicately cut two little slits around Mr. Turnip and weaved the ribbon through.
Thanks everyone for taking a peek !!!
Blessings,
Adurey

Wonderful card on all counts, Audrey. Love your sweet card...and lucky you to meet Roberta IRL. She seems a dear. Love your coloring of the little turnip and cute go-with sentiment.

Oh Audrey! This is just super cute-first of all, love how you colored Mr. Turnip-gorgeous-your masking is perfect as is the houndstooth background stamp. That is one I wish I had. I think what is so special about this is the color-I don't think the typical color one would think of for Houndstooth is Bashful Blue. It makes your card so unique...and perfect. Love it!
