First, I need to give credit where credit is due...CASED leslierich's tutorial, found here: Coloring Today -- Watercoloring With Twinkling H20's on Running With Scissors... Blog at Splitcoaststampers. I had such a blast watercoloring this with Twinkling H2O's that I made two of them.
Now for the story behind the card. I made this as a going away card for a very dear friend of almost 20 years. Six years ago she was widowed and left with 3 girls to raise alone when her husband was killed in a freak accident. She was simply amazing. Somehow, she kept it all together, kept her business running and raised her children. Well, she's getting remarried to a wonderful man, and, here's the bittersweet part ~ he lives 2,000 miles away and she's moving there at the end of the month! I'm so insanely happy for her and am missing her so much already...just a mess of emotions. Besides this card, I have also made her 12 cards and purchased a card/date book for her as a going-away gift. This will give her some hand-made cards to send back to her family.
One of the layers is copper metallic paper which I put through the Cuttlebug. Wasn't sure how it would do, but I really like the effect! Thanks for looking!

What gorgeous colors! Love the cb layer! It turned out fabulously well. So sorry to learn this is going to a long-time friend who's moving away. Try to remember, you're never longer than a flight away!
