This is how I store my ribbon. Sorry I don't have a nice photo, just this scan. This is very easy to use and makes it easy to hold a piece of ribbon over a card to see if it matches or to take the ribbon to your work table or even someone else's house!
The ribbon is stored on plastic tabs with slots that then go onto a 2 1/2 in. ring so you can keep them organized and hanging up. Most ribbons fit one per tab, but with narrow ribbons two will fit side-by-side. I cut mine in 3-4 ft. lengths, which means after it's on the tab it is 1 1/2 to 2 ft. long. It's nice to have plenty of the rings so you can separate your tabs into one or two color families per ring. Then just hang up on a hook in your craft area--it's very colorful and pretty!
These worked well for me because I don't have a lot of wall space, so it's already filled with shelves for stamps. I found them at ribbonring.com, and no--I'm not connected to this product in any way except as a happy customer.
