loved the bird theme, Jacksonbelle...my birds are gettin' ready for a trip to the Golden State...gonna be chillin' while momma bird is...well, that's my story as Mothermark would say!!!
My oldest son leaves with his college buddy tomorrow for his first road trip. Boy oh boy, are they excited! Girl oh girl, Mama's not!!! 10 days of freedom, open road, warm ocean breezes, YADA YADA ...well you get my drift!!! Seems like you're always letting go at this age...
Karen Foster's surf collage and surfboard papers are perfect for my card. It is based on Roxi's sketch of 6/25/08. I used the cuttlebug to make my mail art squares. love this paper. I cut the woody from Let's go surfing and placed it behind my birdies (Art Impressions). These penquins are inked in VersaColor black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I paper pieced their board shorts and surfboard. The smaller guy, in K&co wedding mat pat and the dude with Iron Orchids Journaling pages. Can you see the surfboard says, 'JUST FOR YOU'? Their feet and noses are Copic's.
I'm tucking this into my DS's traveling bag so he'll have something to remind him of home while he's gone. It's gonna be a long 10 days for me...I pray traveling mercies for them, he's yours, Lord. Thanks for much for looking.

This is such a cool card!!!!! Your son will love it! Letting go is a stage of life that takes some getting used to. It does get a bit easier over time.

You are one CREATIVE lady ... your son will appreciate your thoughts when he sees this!!! It's hard to let go ... been there, done that ... now with a 16 yr old granddaughter ... I (and her mother) will be doing it all over again. LOVE the surfer dudes ... kool kard!!
What a great card! The 'shorts' on the cool dude penguins are so funny! Letting go is just about the hardest thing a parent does but you are giving it a sense of humor.
