Ever since I got my Charlie horse, I wanted to build him his very own red barn to reside in. I started with a standard sized card in real red, then I used my Scor-Pal to create various lines (face side down) in my cs for dimension. I went over it with Chestnut Roan chalk inkpad and whisper white craft and roughed it up more by distressing with sandpaper, then added random lines and faux nailholes with a brown Marvey Artist marker.
All that, then I realized that I could create a much neater wood look by cutting strips of red cs, inking each one, then gluing them down on the base! Oh, for the love! So I did this for the *loft* portion of the barn. I still distressed and added my nailholes after gluing down though. Doesn't it look much better on the top?!
I created the trim from strips of brown cs, which was also given a good roughing up. the barn doors are just rectangles cut to size and strips of more distressed cd in a criss-cross design. I made some hay popping out of the loft window. The sentiment comes with this horse, how fun! Now my sweet Charlie has a warm cozy home! Thanks for looking!

Your creativity is just unleased! Now I mean that in a good way, dahling! It's just a hoot this card! Love the barn wood and the roof line. But what I looove most is the charlie horse and the 'how's things at your end.' Way too cute. Over the top darling, dahling!
