I Love this layout I have been trying to cover a 5 x 5 Art journal how did you measure paper (or use the spiral punch) so that it fits to the bottom and top?

Thanks for the feedback!
I cut the paper 1/16" larger than the dimensions of the cover (which is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"), so the cut size of the paper would be 5 5/16" x 5 5/16"). I selected the side I wanted to do the spiral punching on and measured approximately 1/8" from the edge of the paper and cut a slit about 1/8" long. Then I slid the paper into the spiral punch (holding the spiral punch upside down in my hand) so that the 1/8" long slit goes around each side of the edge guide of the spiral punch. Then I begin punching with the spiral punch. Be aware that the 5" x 5" art journal has 9 holes to punch, so don't go crazy with the punching. Be sure to count the holes so you don't go off the top edge. Then use the Anywhere Glue Stick to glue up the cover of the art journal and place the paper on the cover. You may want to use a stylus to push the paper in between the binder spirals (or remove the cover from the spiral binding). Trim the paper close to the edge of the journal and then use the sanding blocks to mesh the edge of the paper with the edge of the journal cover. I like to sponge the edges with coordinating color of classic ink to finish off the edges.
Good Luck! It's a lot easier than it sounds, once you've done it. Just use a piece of copier paper to practice (to get the hang of it).
