This is my submission to LSC169, No Hardware Here! I was challenged yesterday by several cards made for Veterans, to make one thanking my DFIL for his service to our country in WWII. He will be 94 in August, and was wounded in Normandy, where he served in the US Army. He was awarded the Purple heart as well as many other metals but this year I thought a personal thank you from my DH and myself was in order. My DH also served in war, but thankfully was not wounded. This is a wonderful time to thank those we know who made this sacrifice!
I really didn't think I had anything "patriotic" to use for this card. But after searching through everything I found this set, Love it, and used the star from it. Stamped in Night of Navy. Stamped a few extras to be able to punch out my corner stars from the same color/pattern, and these serve instead of brads for the no hardware challenge. The BG is the distressed stripes CB folder inked with real red prior to running GP white CS through it. I did put stickles in each star spot and used a Signo white gel pen to dot the matting around the sentiment which was stamped with a Fiscars Clear Stamp.
Although I feel like this is a rather "humble" and basic card compared to how much I usually put into a card, it's the best I could come up with and I know he will appreciate being honored in this way. Thanks to Twinshappy who is also sending a card to my DFIL! What a kind and generous offer!
Happy Memorial Day to all! Go kiss a Veteran!

LOVE that cb folder. That is so awesome. What a great idea. I really like the stars. What a wonderful gesture for a "hero" I think all veterans should be honored. We have a wonderful celebration in our town with a parade. It is the highlight of my Memorial Day every year. TFS such a terrific creation.

First of all, thank you for reminding us all what this holiday weekend is really about- those who have served their country. Thanks going out to all veterans and those currently in the military. Your card is awesome. Love the way you used the CB folder to create your design that is like a flag. Thanks for sharing with us.
