This is a combination of ghost stamping and sgraffito. Ghost stamping is where you stamp an image in craft white ink, heat set it, then cover with colored pigment inks. Then you use a paper towel to rub away the ink covering the white stamping. With SU! inks this is more difficult, because the craft inks stick so tenaciously to the craft white inks. I have found the greatest luck in using a spritz of Stampin' Mist on the paper towel and changing the surface area frequently to keep the ink from redepositing on the paper. After I did that, I highlighted some areas with a watercolor pencil and blended it out with a blender pen. I added some sponging with Classic Brilliant Blue. I added the stamped mortar board and lettering at the end. Then I took a sanding block and lightly sanded off parts of the image. The final step was clear embossing the whole image...the sanding made it a little fragile and I wanted to protect it and enhance the translucency of the colors.
