Someone in work wanted a wedding card with "parchment and writing". This was the one of 3 I made that she didn't go for.
French Script for the background stamped on vellum. The tiles are a sheet of shrink plastic (Shrinky Dinks?) torn into pieces. Then shrink each piece and press the stamp into it. Normally I am very haphazard with the tiles - since it was for a wedding card, I at least made sure that the pieces were laid out in a way that fit together before they were shrunk. They're mounted onto a background made with green alcohol inks and silver medium. There's a fancy insert with punched corners and a wedding wish in font as close to the French Script background as I could find.

Oh, Sabrina, I love this. It's also perfect for a wedding card in the German-speaking world because instead of Bachelor and Bachelorette parties, the bride and groom to be celebrate together with family and friends at a "Polter-Abend". Well, you got it right, the Polter is as in Poltergeist, where all the guests bring their old mismatched porcelaine and stoneware (no glass). As the saying goes, shards are said to bring luck! The "best" part is that the couple is given two brooms at the end of the ritual breaking and must clean up the mess together as a symbol of staying together through thick and thin. I like the symbolism (I wouldn't much like to have to do the sweaping afterwards though.) So that is why this card is priceless. I've just ordered Shrinkyplastic on eBay. I hope my try at it is a successful as yours. I'll definitely upload if it works out. As always, thank you so much for sharing your creativity and the recipe on SCS.
