This is a project I made with my Girl Scout group last year. I found it again when I was helping my daughter organize her closet over the weekend. It is a journal jar. On the opposite side of the tag that reads Journal Jar are the instructions: Select a slip form the jar. Paste it to the top of a fresh journal page and fill in your answer. Each of the pieces of card stock inside of the jar has a different question. For example: What is your best quality? If you could right one wrong in the world what would it be? Who is your favorite character in a book or movie? Do you believe there is life on other planets? Etc. As you can see, the girls decorated the tag, the question slips, the lid and the jar with stamped images. We also stamped and embellished a composition book to use as a journal. (My daughter has misplaced hers.) It was one of the most popular projects we did. I thought I’d post it here – as an example for other GS leaders or educators out there looking for ideas.

I love this idea... I'm always struggling to get my boys to talk at the dinner table - maybe I'll make a "conversation starter jar". Would be a fun thing to have out at parties too when people need a topic of conversation. Thanks!!!

Definitely going to do this with "my girls" in the fall! It's a perfect part of the Being My Best Junior Badge that I want to start the year off with!! Thank you!
