I have had a hankering to make a baby dress from these Crafty Secrets white chipboard die cuts. I love anything that is white or black, rather than the natural chipboard as it is more stamper friendly. The surface is nice and smooth and takes ink very nicely.
Now, I know some people can find flock very frustrating. I have found success with many adhesives, but for this project, I ran the chipboard collar piece through my Xyron. I then dumped a thick layer of flock over the exposed adhesive and pressed firmly and continued rubbing gently in a circular motion to ensure full coverage. I was feeling sassy and wanted the color to be really thick and rich, so I ran it through my Xyron and applied a second layer. GOR-GE-OUS! It really does look like velvet.
If you are looking for a very defined edge, it works very well to sand the edges once the adhesive is dry.
I should also mention that I colored the chipboard with a black Copic marker before applying the flocking to ensure it was nice and dark.
The inside is finished off with a sentiment and another flocked heart topped with a Swarovski crystal.
