Lifetime docudramas make you laugh and cry and laugh and cry. I hope I don't offend anyone with this page...but it is a docudrama to my children and me. When my husband passed away almost 8 years ago, his big family had a perfect military service and one heck of a good party at the American Legion (husband's request). Part of this challenge is to write here what we journaled. It will tell the rest of the story....
~~He's gone and our lives are forever changed. Most would say for the better as he was bipolar/manic depressive and life wasn't easy for those of us who lived with him. We are thankful that he can rest in a place where the demons are no longer with him. A little humor though: Who hires a professional photographer for a funeral? Only the in-laws. Now I can put the other 200 plus photos away for good.~~We laugh everytime someone asks to see the book. Thanks for the challenge.

Wow! What a wonderful touching page! It looks done in excellent taste and the journaling is beautiful. As a military family ourselves and been to many that military funerals is one of the last way to properly honor; pay respect; and never forget the soldier who has truly defended our freedoms that we have each day. And to you (the military family) that has also sacrificed and support so much to America. Thank you!

Joann, what a tribute to your husband-- with memories of good times and bad. Life closes one door, yet another opens. Thanks for sharing with us all...

I posted my thoughts about your layout in the Chat thread, but also wanted to post here in case you didn't see.
I love your layout. The photos, colors, and journaling are all dramatic. I didn't feel offended at all, because I have a very close family member that faces the same obstacles, and I understand the strife. I really do.
Thank you for participating in the challenge and for being so open about a tragic time in your life.
