Ok, so I have to make invites for our blue and gold cub scouts, They want me to make one, and then have the supplies ready for the scouts to make their own, precut. anyways, this is what I came up with, the theme is chinese new year, I dont have any asian stamps, and I am not going to buy for this, So I came up with the chinese lantern. The symbol I am going to have them draw, it says birthday. Probaly not perfect in my caligraphy. Anyways, Help, does this look ok, what can I add, ?? I am stumped

Boy, that IS a tough one...easy enough for the kids to do on their own...precut supplies...Asian theme...
I like the lantern idea. Very cute!
It would probably look more Asian in a red/black combo but the blue and gold for the scouts makes sense.
The only thing I can think of to add is maybe stamp "Happy Birthday" along with drawing the symbol. It would add a design element and also the kids wouldn't forget what the symbol meant.
Just an idea

The boys were really rowdy the night we first worked on the invitations so they didn't even complete one in 15 minutes. Before we worked on the invitations for the second and final time, I did most of the work and left them with only crimping the circle and putting it on. They were much calmer and did three to four in 10 minutes that night.
Be warned that the boys really liked the crimping part and one even asked if he could crimp the entire invitation when he had completed it! They were hunting for anything they could find to run through the crimpers.
Simple is always better where my cubs are concerned!
