I think these layer folded cards are neat. I bought a bunch of the DSP when it was on sale and haven't really used much. I just hate to put glue on pretty designs...oh well. I think I did get good use of the paper in the card. I was looking for something a little different as far as folding goes. I saw the simple Kite Fold in my moms oragami book and thought I could make a flower with it. When I was laying the pieces out, I came up with the "wind-blown" look. I am quite tickled with how it turned out. You know, one day I am getting ink all over my fingers and glue every where. Can't stamp worth a bean. And then the next I am just stamping crazy with my own ideas. I had a lot of fun with this set that I picked out because I never use it! I love the color scheme here too. I needed that black to really make the card pop. It was drab with out it.

This fold is SIMPLE. The base of the fold is the oragami kite fold. You start with a square, fold it in half so that it is a triangle, then open it up again. With the crease perpendicular, fold the side corners in to meet the crease. You will create a "V" on the bottom of the kite. Then I just tipped the corners again to show more of the inside of the pretty paper. I hope this helps. I don't have my own blog to show a tutorial. Hint: Check out oragami books. I have been looking through them because I love the double sided prints, but hate to hide one side in order to use the other! I try to create with the paper so that you see both sides! There is a cool Marigold fold too....beautiful, more work though.
