It literallly took me all day to get to upload it!
I have been playing with this stamp a lot recently with different techniques, colors, layers, etc. I just love this stamp. I planned on using this beautiful butterfly stamp I got from Holly Berry House and then using the technique as the BG. I was multi-stamping the butterfly on white paper when I realized the technique by Faith (markie'smom), our gracious hostess for the day, needed to be made. It requires time for the paper to dry. When I saw how it looked I figured, "Hey, why color the butterfly when I can use this paper I just made!". So, the card took on a life all of it's own.
It has the smashing technique, ep in black and then the wing edges were brushed over with blue to make it more complete. The butterfly was done 4 times and layered different parts. I figured it would look nice to have a flower behind it, but I didn't want a prima or fabric flower. Out came the Cricut. I put one layer on it...then two...then three until I ended up with six. I may have gone a little bit overboard, but I couldn't stop!
There is felt ribbon on the bottom and pink rhinestones on it and the corner pieces.
My dh liked it a lot, but laughed when he saw it because it had gained about 5 layers since he had seen it earllier!
I felt the sentiment worked well with the wing span. It made me think of the morphisis that the catterpillar must go through to become a beautiful butterfly. I like to dream big.
I may never give this card away.
