1. Cover (slightly smaller) than 1/4 sheet of cardstock with small pieces
of masking tape. I just use the regular kind that you can get at any
store - one-inch thick. Be sure to cover ENTIRE surface of cardstock.
2. I use either one or two colors of ink. If you are using two you will
want to start with your LIGHTEST color. Lay cardstock flat on your work
surface and rub ink pad over it. The ink will catch on the edges of masking
tape and color it.
3. Sponge darker color over this for a different look. This can be tricky
to do without taking too much of the first color off. Be careful!
4. Since masking tape is a slick surface, the ink will NOT dry on it. I
sprinkle clear embossing powder over the entire surface and heat emboss it.
This gives a nice look to the cardstock and darkens the edges of the masking
tape.
5. Attach to card base and decorate as you'd like. You will want to keep
in mind that Monoadhesive will NOT stick to the masking tape background, so
you will need to attach anything with dimensionals or liquid glue.
