I altered this plastic jar for my DD to put her quarters for her laundry while she is at college. I wanted something durable, waterproof, and with a wide mouth to make it easy for her to put her hand in to grab quarters. I also hoped it would be decorative enough to set on her desk shelf in between laundry sessions.
The jar started as a salt body scrub container.
I used a 10 inch strip of Pink Passion cardstock stamped swirls with the white ink. The butterflies are stamped in pink passion on white, cut out and adhered to pink passion cardstock. (SU- Priceless)
I ran the entire strip through the Xyron using the laminate/adhesive cartridge. I wrapped the laminated adhesive strip around the jar and glued the edge shut.
What do you think?

I think it is adorable and practical! It has so many uses!
I have a Xyron that I never use. Perhaps I should try it for this.
At the end of your description, did you mean that after you adhered the label to the jar, you put another layer of the Xyron adhesive strip over it to completely cover it, and then you put glue in the upper and lower edges? What kind of glue did you use?
Could you have run the label through your Xyron two times - one time for each side?
I have the supplies you used, and I love the way you put them together.

Really cute! This is a great way of reminding her to save quarters for laundry day - it's pain enough to go to a laundromat without having to stop along the way for change!
