Made for Sharon's (notimetostamp) Stamp Simply Tear it Up! Challenge #18. I have done paper tearing in the past but seem to forget to do it nowadays - so Sharon's challenge was ideal to get me back into this oldie but goodie technique! I liked the Feb Recipe 1 on p. 24 of the Feb issue of Paper Crafts mag so I used that sketch for this card.
The patterned paper is 'Whimsical Ladies, Princess Caroline' by Daisy Bucket. I love this paper, it looks swirly, floral and elegant at first glance - but there is a hidden touch of whimsy. The white circles on the DP are made up of ladybirds (or ladybugs to you US folks)!
The stamp is Hero Arts and I stamped the image in brown and embossed with clear EP. I've coloured using watercolour pencils and I went over the centre and outside petals with Twinkling H20 paint in Iridescent Violet to add some shimmer. I trimmed the image and then swiped purple ink around the edges. The image is mounted to the brown panel with 3d foam pads. The sentiment is a brown rub on.
Thanks for a great challenge Sharon, it's good to re-visit an old but fave technique!

Love this - it's so very pretty!!! I love how you got your stamped image to coordinate so perfectly with your DP - wonderful job!!! And that simple torn DP panel up against the textured paper is just wonderful -- rich looking!!! Love your card and so glad you played!!! Thanks!!!
