This card was made for today's Ways to Use it Challenge - Embossing. I worked on this card throughout the day today as I was able. I threw it away twice and retrived it to try yet again to make it work. I find this style very challenging and I'm not sure how successful I am with it. I can do embossing without struggle, so I decided to play with a couple of newer techniques for me. I did the Cracked Glass technique on the flower image and the Faux Flocking technique on the Always Artichoke layer. (See Pat Huntoon's Technique Junkie Newsletter and website for information on this and many other great stamping techniques.)I started out with a larger rectangle piece of the cracked glass, but just didn't really like the look of it as I had added some dark ink to the cracks and it just overwhelmed the image. I ended up bleaching them out. I used some old Gold Glory EP that has tarnished or something to age a gold metal edge tag to match the HPH.

This is wonderful! Love the way your cracked glass turned out! I don't know that I always like my attempts, some stamps are better suited than others. Funny story...I sent my MIL a birthday card with the cracked glass technique, and when she got it she said yes, it was nice, but it was a shame it got broke in the mail LOL!!

I think this is a great card! I think SU! should sell that stretch ribbon on a roll all by itself! I love that stuff...I get the Ribbon Originals just for that stuff...and the satin...but now I have both the choc & pom rolls of that...hm...maybe I will have to call SU! and tell them that! Thanks for sharing! Happy Stampin! God Bless!
