Happy New Year everyone - Break out the Veuve Cliquot!! I decided to break out an old stamp that I had from House Mouse Designs to make a Happy New Years Card. I used Pearl Ex with the blender pen to make the gold foil of the champagne bottle, dazzling diamonds on the champagne lines (which you can't see too well here) and dot sparklers to imitate some bubbles. I colored the mouse with a marker and used a blender pen for the cork and glass and for blush portion of mouse. For the decorative scallop, I don't know what you call the technique I did with the gold cord, but I saw it on another sample and decided to try it. It was very easy. You just tape a piece of cord to the back and then wrap the cord around every second scallop until you get all the way around. Then tape it tightly to the back. Hold the cording tight as you go so it stays in place. I used a dimensional to attach the scallop greeting. I really like this technique - I thought it dressed up the card. I used On the Spot background for the bottom layer and back of the card, keeping with the bubbles theme. I like this card so much - I don't want to give it away now ; ) Hope you like it.

Fantastic card! The coloring is gorgeous. I like how you turned the punched scallop into the base for a spirelli. Great choice for the background, since it really does carry the bubble theme throughout the whole card. I would not want to give this card away either!
