Since I donÂ’t have a blog to direct you to IÂ’ll give you my story here.
For the past 20 plus years my Christmas card has always included a picture of my dogs. I started planning out this yearÂ’s card months ago when I found deer antler headbands at the dollar store. Needless to say the card you are seeing isnÂ’t my original plan. My original plan was much more involved. It included shimmery white paper and layers of paper with notched corners.
So when I found out a week before Thanksgiving my rottie had Insulinoma, needed surgery and had about a year to live, I quick did a photo shoot ( not with the background I had planned). She needed surgery to remove the tumor and was in the hospital from the Tuesday before Thanksgiving to the Sunday after. I had to go to the hospital twice a day to try and get her to eat so her blood sugar level would come up. This severely cut into my card making time, but she came first. Once she was home I had time to rethink the card and came up with this streamlined version of my original vision.
This will most likely be her last card since the biopsies taken show the cancer has already spread and she has a few months left here with us. She is currently on prednisone so she is acting like life is good as long as there is something to eat and drink.

Oh my gosh I am so sorry to hear about your dog :( I know how hard it is to lose such a special friend. Big hugs to you and give that Rottie a big hug from me.
BTW I really like the simplicity of your card. It showcases your 'reindeer' perfectly.
