Every year in early November, my coworkers and I draw names for the Christmas present swap.
I bought this candle with the idea of stamping on it. Then I realized that I didn't want to fight with tissue paper and wax paper. I'd also seen the embellished candles with the brads and swirl clips on them - I wanted to do one of those! I'd also seen on a blog how to glitter brads with heat and stick powder - I think it was texasjodylynn, but not completely sure.
Well, if you can do it with brads, you can do it with thumbtacks - which are easier to get into a candle. Using tongs to keep your fingers out of the way, heat the thumtack up with your heat tool for 15 seconds or so and tip it into your Heat and Stick Powder. If it's hot enough, the powder will melt immediately. You can then dip it into the glitter of your choice. Let it cool and stick it into your candle.
