I love Julia S's comment in her WT thread about this being a challenge not a contest and a way to stretch our abilities. Well, this was stretching. I had originally stamped this image on Tues. and set it aside to think on it while I worked on a "simple" card--HAH--that took half the day!! I quickly painted up the image in the evening and really liked how it turned out but didn't know what to do with it. You know how you even think design, layout, etc, etc, even when you are sleeping. Thanks to Zindorfs beautiful inspiration, I decided that was the type of background needed. I brayered turquoise and then not quite navy and added platinum stickles for the stars. I had a stencil that had a wavy edge and sponged white ink on that and added the swirl stamp from All Night Media. I had started out thinking I would do the sun in cracked glass to combine two challenges but I thought the detail would get lost in the cracking, but it really enhanced the colors so I clear embossed the bg as well since it look so lacklustre against the sun and WOW what a difference. I hadn't really played with this, but I have read that some of you have. I already knew I wanted to adapt the bg to fit the words from "The Walrus and the Carpenter" found in Lewis Caroll's "Alice in Wonderland". What a challenge to fit the script around the border--just a lot of trial and error (more error). But I am so pleased with the outcome. I used the "curlz" script . Thanks for looking.
