A birthday card for my mom, who prefers my drawings to my stamped art. :(
This was inspired by Arthur Rackham's title page illustration for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The cake was inspired by Food Network's Cake Challenges, and the cake cart was inspired by a little dollhouse serving cart I used to have. The green parrot is one of my parents' pets that I can't stand because it is always screeching when I go over. But she likes it (the parrot). The two wee folk have glasses, because I have glasses. And the snail is there, just because I think they are very good with butter and garlic.
I used a calligraphy pen to put permanent masking fluid on the dots on the flowers, before over-painting with red paint.

I'm like your mom - while I still think your stamp work is great, I absolutely love your hand-drawn work. It's not just great, it's gorgeous and amazing.

So sweet and whimsical! I love the expressions on the little elves (brownies?). It really is fantastic and I do wish you the best of luck getting some rubber stamps made using your designs.

I don't know why you even own stamps!! You design your own every time you draw- SUch an amazing talent- I'm so glad you put it to use and SHARE it with us! Wonderful! (by the way, I do know why you own stamps... because it is much faster compared to this I bet!)
