No layer cards are not my forte; I find them difficult to achieve something that's really appealing to my eye.
Cards going to prison inmates cannot have layers or embellishments... they don't make it in, they might be concealing contraband. This is for the son of one of our church families who is trying to get his life right. I'll let his parents select the card to send from our fellowship group.
My husband prefers the card with the sponged borders (he said it needed some color). I prefer the simpler one with an embossed border.
Dove was positioned with Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped in Versamark ink, then the BAREST of Antique Gold Pearl Ex was brushed on. The 'sponged' border was masked then sponged in multiple colors. The embossed border was done with Scor Pal. Which card do you prefer?

gorgeous!!! I really like them both. personally, I think the embossed one is better for a female and a male would prefer the sponged one. The embossed one just seems more "light and dainty" and especially for a male in a prison environment... I would send him the darker one.

I agree with the other ladies. Sponged for male, scored for female. I would add that prison is already drab so any color that can be added in any way is good....male or female inmate. Great job!!
Your card is beautiful. Either one sent to an inmate would be perfect. They are both subtle, yet inspirational.
I would send out as my own Christmas cards if I had the stamps!
God bless you with your prison ministry.
