I live in a decent sized town (population roughly 30,000) in the central plains, in a state without a professional sports franchise. Thus, college and high school sports are an even bigger deal here than usual. Think 'Friday Night Lights' times ten, and you get the picture.
Well, our high school mascot is the Zebras, and our colors are red and black. There is a lot of zebra stuff out there, but most of it isn't especially cute. Then, I saw this little guy named Zeebo. Isn't he darling?! He's part of the Doodle Factory animal line from www.starvingartistamps.com. The instant I saw him, I knew he had to be mine. I envision Zeebo and I being BFFs until my youngest graduates from high school (he just turned 3 earlier this month).
This particular card is the prototype for my older son's teachers' gifts. (Can you believe that I'm so on the ball with this so early?! Me neither!) I'm thinking about making a half dozen or so of these for his two teachers as part of their Christmas gifts. I purposely kept the card really simple so I won't mind replicating it over and over again. The one way I did kind of step it up, though, is by covering Zeebo's outline, mane, stripes, etc. with Copic Spica glitter markers, so he's very sparkly in real life.
My only problem: once this little guy is seen, everyone is going to be wanting me to produce him for things! I may never get to ink another stamp once the word is out...
Thanks so much for looking at my new pal!
