When I saw what the challenge was this morning using non traditional embellishments, instantly the blue beer can tabs from Coors light silverbullet cans that my son bought came to mind. I had him save them for me. I thought of making a flower with them. While at work I tried to think how. I remembered I still had all the containers of polished stones we did about 15, 16 yres ago when my youngest son was in Cub Scouts.
This is how my flower was made. Blue tabs, green twist tie for stem, 2 green and white polished stones for leaves. The center of the flower was the hard part. When I came home for lunch I found a pkg of 5 white rubber tips to put on legs of an old chrome metal rod towel rack. I took one and cut off the side and kept the round part. After work while eating a hotdog on a poppy seed bun and poppyseeds falling off all over I thought why not glue them on top of the yellow center. That's how my flower came about. I used bashful blue and stamped the spots with one of the Itty Bitty BG stamps and also did the DTP with BB. Added a little sponging of BB on it too. My faux brown brads.. they are from a very old pkg of self adhesive felt pads that I bought years ago to put on bottom edge of a hanging picture frame so it wouldn't mark the wall.

This is creative and to think you went from 9 yr old son's polished stone to his beer can tabs, good thing he grew up in between! Very nice use of the saved treasures!
