I know this is not the best card ever but I am looking for sympathy here. My dh said that he wanted to give a card to his mom for Mother's Day and so I made this card and I know for a lot of you whipping out a gorgeous layout is second nature but I really really struggle. I finally came up with this card and I thought it turned out kind of nice. Well my dh looked at it and I know he didn't purposely be mean but he said that's nice but I am just going to buy a card. So of course I am crushed and being way overly sensitive. Please help me improve my layout. What should I put on the bottom - how can I balance this better? Thanks for any suggestions.

It is nice, but there are a couple of things you could do to improve.
1. move the mom panel down half the distance to the thanks so much.
2. add another scalloped green border along the top edge of the mom panel--leaving a nice amount of brown at the top of the card
or (and this would involve remaking the mom panel) make the mom panel taller so it covers more of the card
