Making a card for my cousin who's graduating Mother's Day weekend...I'll be using this for a stamp club meeting as well...2 of the 3 stamp sets are retiring...I love when things work out!
I used sketch challenge 110 for inspiration. Figuring out the layers was a little messy...my poor brushed silver! LOL!
For the club - I'm giving the members the option of swapping out the Pixie Pink for Not Quite Navy...we'll see how it goes.
Make the cap: punch out the oval in basic black, once the bottom of the cap is punched out, use the 1-1/4" square to punch out the the base of the cap. Use the large oval to punch the cap top - use scissors to cut straight lines.
Make the tassel: I wrapped silver cord loosely around my index finger, held it in the middle & cut the bottom of the loop (making the loose ends of the tassel). Then I took the cut end & wrapped it around the middle (leave a big loop at the top, you can push the wrapped cord up later), tie a knot, then feed the cut end through the loop at the top. Push the wrapped cord (around the middle) up to the top of the loop & voila - you have a tassel! I used crystal effects on the tied parts to make sure it was secure. I also used a glue dot under the wrapped part of the tassel to make it stick to the edge of the cap.
I hope that makes sense...I'm not very good at "written directions"...!
