The first thing I noticed about the inspiration piece were the swirls. I don't have any doodle type swirl stamps (at least not big ones), so I had to make do with what I do have. The colors reminded me of camouflage... camouflage for where? A tropical rainforest! So, I got out my Tropical Blossoms set and few other sets that had fern type leaves. I covered a sheet of cardstock with them, and even did a bit of emboss resist. The colors were all pulled from the colors in the shoe, however, there was only a tiny bit of apricot in the shoe, and I used more. There was a small bit of cool caribbean on the shoe, and I sponged cool caribbean all over everything because I like the color!
I rounded all the corners of the card, since sneakers have rounded edges. Note to self: round corners before setting eyelets, since corner rounder punches do not fit over eyelets! One eyelet is red, same as the shoe.
In the middle of making the card, I wasn't sure where I was going with it. (I am not sure where the shoe designer was going!) But it finally fell into place.

Cool card; love your jungle explanation. And I don't know how many times I've tried to round corners after the fact...somehow I always misplace my 'note to self' lol. Thanks for playing!
