I wanted this card to have an Olde West look to it, just seems like big buckles, cowboys . . .
I followed Beate Johns tutorial pretty closely (Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers. My only recommendation is that you do a mockup first with some cheap paper. I found it a little challenging to line of the punch, buckle and cardstock just exactly.

I really like how the flower is 2-tone...did you use a marker?
I agree with you on doing a practice run with cheap paper. I tell my customers that whenever I introduce a new specialty card (flip-flop, big buckle, squash book, tunnel card, etc.). It's great because you can mark it up with whatever cutting and scoring notes that you use for the project and use it as a reference for future projects!

OH my goodness...I love...LOve...LOVE your card. It is fantastic...the brad on the flower is a great addage...and I love the finished look inside your card. The colors are perfect...and I like the roughed edges!
Glad I could inspire you, but you have inspired me with the extra embellishments and time you put into your layout! Really do love it!

I love the look you got here. The western style is really attractive on this card. Terrific colors and great advice about doing a mockup first! I find new fold cards are really challenging at firts!
