Someone asked about scrapbooking on canvas, so that reminded me to share this creation of mine from last year. It was a gift for a friend. The canvas was 8 X 10, I believe. I either got it at the $ store or Michaels. I painted it with acrylic paints, naturally. I used the flourishes from a Making Memories foam set...stamped them with acrylic paint.
I chose an inspiring Biblical quote (Matthew 17:20 - parable of the Mustard seed) and so used Papier Glass Finish glaze (same thing as Crystal Effects) on part of the flourish to then adhere some mustard seeds to it. The quote is computer generated & printed on vellum. Used a strip of Basic Grey 'Phresh & Phunky' patterned paper. Oh, and behind her picture is a on old world botanical print of the mustard seed, which I found online. Her nickname is B, hence the bees!
I used Mod Podge to adhere the papers to the canvas.
Thanks for looking!
PS That photo was taken by a dear friend of ours and it's from the 1st time I met her...brings back very fond memories. Love ya, B! *smooches*

Great job Avonlea!! Thanks for posting this, I have been trying to figure out how I will do mine. Did you Modge Podge the whole canvas or only the areas where you placed the paper? Also how did you hang it?

Glad you like it! =) You could Mod Podge the whole canvas....it acts as a sealant. But I only used it to adhere the patterned paper and the large B and the purple and green bees. And I added some to the photo corners, too..cuz sometimes they don't stay forever.
As to how I hung it, I *think* I stapled my ribbon to the back of the frame...the underside part of it. It's just a simple ribbon.
