I've enjoyed looking at other people's creations, either from dominos or tiles and wanted to try for myself. It's a lot of fun, because you can create something colorful w/o alot of effort. I did however encounter a slight learning curve. By-the-way, the tiles that are "white" are glazed and the "off white" tiles are a natural unglazed tile. Anyway, back to the learning curve, for instance; I learned that with the glazed tiles, if you don't want to struggle w/stamping the image, rough it up first with sandpaper (remove the sheen). There's a HUGH difference when you go to stamp it, your stamp will actually stay in place vs. sliding around. If you don't sand it, the SU markers, being water-based kind of "seperate" (sp?) vs. a sanded tile, the SU markers "adhere" to the tile, giving the tile a lot of color that you otherwise would not get. (look at the snowmen white tile to see what I mean.) The pastels,(the bird tiles) work great w/o using any water or anything, just the little spong thingys that come with the pastels. (Although, the birds are a combo of pastels and SU inks/blender pen) And, the sharpies were a ton of fun to color w/too. The chair tiles--the white tile colored w/sharpies, the natural tile, colored w/SU markers. Also of note, the natural tiles take color very easily, so what worked on the sanded glazed tile, will not work the same way on the natural, i.e. expect a noticeable difference in the two. Lastly, be careful when spraying on the spray finish. I held my can too close and used WAY to much spray, resulting in the colors bleading all over the place, ruining the tile. I had to start over-Oops! Also, I think I'd like to see what a glossy spray finish did for the tile, vs. the matte finish I used?
