this was done with tombow markers. for each surfboard i chose a light and dark version of the colour. i coloured the entire board with the lightest colour, then picked up some of the darker colour with a wet paintbrush to add the shading. because this was not done on watercolour paper i couldn't blend the colours directly on the paper. i used the same technique for the shading behind the boards then added a thin line of a dark brown along one edge of each board to give dimension. then the edges of the piece was distressed with ranger antique linen.
