I had wanted to try watercolor resist for a while and decided tonight was the night. This technique is absolutely fabulous! It's definitely not the last time I use it on a project.
The added detailing actually comes from my new pair of jeans (inspiration is everywhere, right? ;) ) The waist of my jeans is rounded on one side, but not on the other, so I just rounded one corner on my card. There's also a hidden tab inside the zipper, where the cut's name (Sabrina, for the curious ones!) is printed on twill and sewn inside. I thought it was a clever detail, so I mimicked it on my card. I considered adding some stitching, but, naaah... My sewing machine is hidden too far away and I was not in the mood to take it out. (That, and I almost came in late for my dentist's appointment, because I was totally lost in creation!). Maybe I'll add the sewing eventually. Maybe not. I still like the card as is. Hope you do, too.
The center of the flower is adorned with a single pearl. This is a lose pearl I had because I cut off part of a pair of earrings. They were really nice, but way too long, as they brushed on my shoulders, so I used the pair of pliers found in SU's tool kit (see - great buy, lots of uses for it!) and took off some of the length. Of course, I kept the pearl because I knew I could find some use for it...
What you see under the card is the matching envelope.
A special thanks to Marika for the stamp set. I made sure this one was extra special to make the set justice!
