I stamped the design on vellum CS and colored the back with markers and aqua painter. I put O'So Super Sticky tape OVER the image with a .5 inch border all around and attached to block. I beaded the whole front with clear microbeads. It was a really simple process with beautiful results! Thanks for looking.

My hubby & I bought a 1/2 inch drill bit for cutting glass at Lowe's. It was only about $8 which I didn't think was bad. I watched my hubby drill the first block (with a drill press) because neither of us had ever done it before. He used WD40 as a lubricant while he was drilling and it took probably 7 minutes total. Then I had to wash out the block with dish detergent and let it dry.
After the block was dry, I inserted a 35-light strand of christmas lights.
Since this photo was taken, I have glued a wide green & gold ribbon around the block. It looks very nice.
[This is probably way more info than you wanted, huh?!] ;)
BTW, this was all started by an online class at PennyWiseArts' yahoo group.

I have done a glass block, but a bit different. I used a can of spray frosting first to the entire block. Then I stamped a snowman scene using stazon and colored the scene with sharpies. A small (35 light) strand of christmas lights was inserted through the hole and a blue snowflake ribbion tied around the block. If I can figure out how to upload the picture I will submit it shortly.
