This is using the glass blocks used to make bathroom walls. Thank you to the original posters who gave great directions. (jaydekay)
These were fun to make.

Here are the directions that jaydekay posted. I don't know why the link above won't work.
the Drill bit is a black and decker carbide spade tip bit # 16905, purchased at home depot. the blocks come from lowes. they are 8x8x3. the images come from this site. http://www.operationlettertosanta.com/Pages/wallpapers_christmas.htm
when drilling the block you must drill VERY SLOW, and use water to cool the drill bit. when you see it getting hot spritz with water.. you will have to do this several times during drilling.
I painted mod podge on the front of the block then put the picture on. smooth out any bubbles.. then went over the top of the image with mod podge, this really brightens up your image, then I used a hairdryer to help speed up the drying time.
I used white card stock to cover the back so it would reflect more light to the front.
walmart has light sets in strings of 20.
add your ribbon, and you are in business.
have fun...
Hope this helps.

Thanks for typing up those directions. I couldn't get to the link either. I have been dying to try these blocks since I first saw them.
Thanks again!
