 | | I woke up at 3:00 AM and "randomly" worked with this new-to-me Unity stamp, Never Random. It is abstract, anyway, so that's how I approached it and the color combination: Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Highlands Heather.
First, I positioned my stamps in the Misti, sprayed the watercolor paper with water, rubbed Crushed Curry onto the splotchy parts of the stamp with a makeup brush and stamped. I repeated that several times until I had enough yellow on the paper. I repeated that with the Mossy Meadow onto the areas where leaves would be, Highland Heather for the petals and I used a finger dauber to accent the flower center.
After that, I used the inked up brushes to add more color to the already stamped areas.
Once the paper/ink was dry, I covered the paper with anti static powder and stamped with Versamark. Carefully, I sprinkled gold powder over the flower part and clear powder over the sentiment. I embossed both at the same time.
The edges were distressed with the SU distress tool. I used lots of adhesive, because the paper was a bit warped, and finished off with black Nuvo Crystal Drops and a bit of accenting with a very fine Micron pen.
The original plan was just to see if you could brush color onto a stamp and get an image. It just kept on evolving, like your life does...it seemed random, but there was purpose to it in the end. |
