| | First I made the faux Kraft resist paper by stamping the Below the Ripples and some of the the other stamps from the various sets. I then clear embossed some large and small numbers over the inked images. I then followed the technique in Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry 101 to color the Kraft resist using distress spray stains to thoroughly saturate the paper, dried the paper with a heat tool, and used an inking tool to apply additional colors to the Kraft resist paper. I then removed the embossing powder overlying the numbers using a very hot iron, and applied distress spritz using colors that coordinated with the colors on the page. I trimmed the kraft resist, inked the edges and glued the kraft resist to a larger piece of Ranger black alcohol ink cardstock. For the 3 fish I stamped the images on watercolor paper, used Distress inks to watercolor the images, fussy cut the images and went over the edges with a copic black marker. i used 2 coats of Wink of Stella to add shimmer to the fish, then applied 4 coats of clear embossing powder to the entire surface. I attached the fish using foam tape, and added some Trinity baubles to mimic bubbles in the water. The materials and technique are the same for all 4 cards in this series, with different colors used for each. |
