Thank you Linda (Holstein) for hosting the Tuesday Color Challenge. My card entry this week is called, Sprinkled with Kindness.
The colors this week are: Granny Apple Green, Darling Duckling, and Balmy Blue.
I was able to pick up those colors in my wildflowers. While I don't have any Stampin' Up colors, I'm very close with the green for my flower stems and leaves, the yellow for some of the daisies, and the blue in the cluster of little light blue flowers on the left. My neutral color is grey for the watering can.
Before I tell you how I created this card I'd like to thank Mary Marsh and all the ladies who commented on last weeks card, Wrapped in Ribbon. I was so surprised this morning to see I was a Color Challenge Favorite last week - I'm really and truly honored that you liked it.
Now... This is a super fun card to create because I get to build a little summer scene in a watering can! This is like playing with cuts-out when I was a little girl. Coloring, Cutting, Arranging - right up my alley! I find this so relaxing.
And sometimes (most of the time) I start out with an idea and it goes somewhere else by the time I'm done - ever happened to you?
I used the watering can die only from the The Greetery set, Summer Sprinkled with Love set (it's an old set). Then I did some ink blending with TH Distress Ink on my Canson watercolor card base. I use Canson because it's a nice watercolor paper and much less expensive than Arches which I use for other watercoloring pieces.
I gathered my assortment of wildflowers and arranged them in the watering can. I love to add a little sparkle too so there's some Stickles Star Dust on the flowers here and there.
My art desk looks out on the garden and when the humidity arrives in the lowcountry believe me it's much nicer to view the garden from the inside and arrange paper flowers than be outside digging in the garden bed!

I'm so glad to see you back this week, Susie! Congrats on being the Favorite choice from last week. This is such a wonderful watering can filled with delightful flowers, which are so attractive, even the honey bee stopped by for a sip of nectar! Beautifully created~
