For Teapot Tuesday, we are being inspired by Monet's waterlilies. I thought of trying to do a painting, but I have had this waterlily image forever, and I am not sure I've ever used it before. The end result is kind of a wood-cut image. The image is stamped on a background I made who knows when (meaning long ago), that I think is some form of monoprinting. It had the right colors for the inspiration. It's matted on lavender gloss card stock that's recycled from a fundraising letter. The largest panel has a very subtle marbling in lavender. It's also from long ago, and is the result of playing with alcohol inks floating on water. For the sentiment, I tried this week's strip tease technique, using a piece cut off from the main panel.

You're so very right, it does look like wood grain. It's a very nice stamp and card -- and you were able to it in a number of challenges. I'd say that's a good day!!

The piece you found to use the print-style stamp on is just perfect, and I can imagine the glossy lavender is pretty special too. Monet was very influenced by Japanese art, so I think this is very apt.
