 | | After being sick, and then catching up on everything that got put off while I was sick, I finally found some time for crafting.
Since I felt like making a bee-themed card, I pulled out all my bee stuff. Immediately, I noticed the color similarity between a printed ATC I purchased a couple of years ago and a fantastic Trading Coin that I received from Nancy in her Spring Swap. So I decided to make them the main elements of my design.
The striped paper, which was a gift from one of my fellow Splitcoaststampers (thank you), made a great background. Unfortunately, when I cut out the piece I wanted, I accidentally left a strip of plain white paper along the bottom. To fix that, I initially tried stamping little bee images in the white space. But I didn't like the way they turned out, so I covered them with a strip of "Busy As A Bee" paper from Graphic 45.
To match the black markings on the bee, I added a black frame to the printed trading card, and then mounted the whole thing on a black card.
And, of course, I have to end with a shameless plug for the current Artist Trading Card / Artist Trading Coin swap. It's once again being hosted by Nancy, and the theme is "The Sea". Stop by the Swap Forum and join the fun! |
