 | | A favorite flower is today's CAS theme. Not sure I have one favorite. I mostly love flowers that come and go very quickly: spring flowers, like iris, daffodils, tulips, lilacs.
I've been following a watercolorist on Facebook and that does a lot of loose, abstract flowers and she did a painting of an iris. I have purple ones blooming in front of my house, courtesy of my Aunt Joyce, and at my previous home, I had a huge yellow one that I wish I had dug up and brought with me. Didn't belong to me but better to beg forgiveness. Oh well. On second thought, Sallie thought it was an orchid. Maybe it was; the artist is from another country and didn't say what it was. I like them too.
This turned out pretty decent although I think I could have curved the top two parts a bit more inward. I love to try new things. I used an old wood mount background with names of flowers; the word 'iris' is there. I stamped it off once to keep it light.
Thanks for this challenge! |
