For the WTUI challenge today:WT1102 - Sing, Sing a Song - 04/23/2026 by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers

DH needed a quick card for a 1-year old's first birthday party, so I made him this, going back to childhood memories of our album of Burl Ives singing. One of the songs was The Whale. The whale is cut from glossy black card, which really impressed him. Sponged the sky and added the sentiment.

Your glossy black whale creates such a bold focal point against the softly sponged sky, and the little sailor hat adds a playful touch that suits a first birthday perfectly while the crisp waves, sweet seagull, and clean square framing pull everything together into a bright and cheerful scene.

What a great card! I grew up listening to Burl Ives - we had a children's album by him with Little White Duck and The Whale. Such a fun memory. "Oh what can you do in a case like that....?"
